Job description

The project “Peatland Management and Rehabilitation” aims to develop the planning and
implementation capacities to rehabilitate peatland ecosystems in the Kayan Sembakung Delta,
North Kalimantan. It is supported through a cooperation between the government of Indonesia
and the government of the Federal Republic of Germany. The project responds to the current land
use plannings and practices in the Kayan Sembakung Delta which are considered insu�cient. It
brings forward the protection and sustainable management of the peatland ecosystems.

Provide technical advisory in the area of strategic land use practice and management planning
as well as rehabilitation of peatland, management and restoration of natural peat swamp forest
and rehabilitation of degraded peatlands

●

Develop and take responsibility for the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system●
Maintain the knowledge management system, including publication of research related to the
project activities in integrative land use planning

●

Take over project management tasks (e.g. external presentations, reportings, donor coordination
and regional networking)

●

Support the coordination and preparation of international consultants in carrying out their work
related to the project activities

●

Support the project manager to develop ready-to-use strategies and technical concepts,
including guidelines, manuals and procedures

●

Create reports and present documents; support in phrasing appropriate input for various project
reports, including annual reports

●

University degree in the �eld of forestry, wetland management, public management or in a
comparable �eld

●

First professional experience in project and knowledge management●
First professional experience in international cooperation, ideally in Southeast Asia●
First professional experience in the �eld of international discussions on Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs), multi-stakeholder processes and con�ict management or mediation

●

Relevant knowledge about impact monitoring●
Ability to quickly analyze complex processes●
Good written and oral communication skills, self-management, well-structured working method,
resilience and �exibility

●

Effective Operational Pro�ciency language skills in German and English (C1) and willingness to
learn Bahasa Indonesia
